History

The art of WakiMoko first came about as a dual of dexterity amongst martial artists. Intricately carved blocks of ivory would be used, placed on the back of the fighter’s un-gloved hand, he would launch it vertically upward before throwing repeated air punches and kicks before catching the ivory on the back of his hand in a blocking position. It was the ultimate test of poise, speed and preparation.

In the twentieth century the disposable block has almost the exact same weight and dimensions as the ivory block and one can be found in almost every home.

Actually brought to the table by Jolyon “Jo-Lo” Varley and extended and progressed with current World Champion Sean “King Prawn” Bennett.

WakiMoko has brought the world of extreme sports into the domain of Domestic indoor gaming. Now a modern urban phenomenon, this cheap alternative to video games brings people together and is almost completely free.

WakiMoko has a similar feel to skateboarding. You can be competitive but its best enjoyed with friends, trying to do the best tricks with the most style you can. Going on a smooth run of tricks and passing it over to your friend and them doing the same without dropping the WakiMoko block is so satisfying.
